Citroën at the 2008 Beijing Motor Show

Citroën is unveiling to the public the C-Elysée at the Beijing Motor Show on 24 April. The new model is a significantly upgraded Elysée boasting a wealth of new styling and technological features to satisfy an increasingly demanding clientele.
Alongside the range sold in China, Citroën will also be revealing the C2 Kappa concept car, produced in collaboration with the high-profile Kappa sportswear brand.
The Marque is also presenting the C-Cactus concept car in China for the very first time. C-Cactus illustrates the brand’s ability to innovate with essential vehicles and highlights its environmental prowess. It will be displayed alongside the equally environmental CNG version of the C-Elysée.
China is Citroën’s largest market outside Europe. The brand sold 109,700 vehicles in 2007, taking its sales total in the country to more than 800,000.

C-Elysée debuts at Beijing Motor Show

Citroën is unveiling the C-Elysée at this year’s Beijing Motor Show. Based on the Elysée, the newcomer benefits from numerous upgrades in terms of styling, quality and technology.
The C-Elysée is immediately recognisable as a new-generation Citroën with its expressive, modern-looking front end. Inside, the C-Elysée is fitted with new wheels and three-dimensional rear lights, while the cabin gets new front seats and lighter colours.
Citroën has made 300 improvements to the C-Elysée – all of which can be perceived by the customer – to re-attract existing customers and win new ones. The aim of all these upgrades is to ensure the highest levels of perceived quality and quality in use. Citroën has equipped the C-Elysée with latest-generation anti-lock brakes. The new model also ships with a Bluetooth audio system, 6-CD hard-disk jukebox and USB socket as options, while the boot lid features an automatic opening function.
The new range features three trim levels and five versions, fitted with the 1.6i 16V engine and a choice of two gearboxes. In addition, the suspension has been reworked to reduce noise levels. A CNG version will be displayed on the stand.

Diverse range

The new C-Elysée strengthens the range of Citroën vehicles produced in China by Dong Feng Peugeot Citroën Automobiles (DPCA), the joint venture between PSA Peugeot Citroën and Chinese company Dong Feng Motors. The range now consists of the C2, Fukang, Xsara Picasso and C-Triomphe, all built at the Wuhan plant in Hubei province.
Citroën also imports several models to China, namely the C4 coupé, C5 saloon and C6.
This range will enable Citroën to continue growing its sales in the country. Growth will be further boosted in the coming years with the arrival of other new products.

C2 Kappa

C2 Kappa: a dynamic partnership

Citroën will be unveiling the C2 Kappa concept car at the Beijing show.
Developed in partnership with the highly popular Chinese sportswear brand, Kappa, the C2 Kappa is based on the locally-sold C2 VTS.
The show car stands out with its unique front end, front and rear bumpers, front and rear lights, rear spoiler and side-sill styling, and with its all-new exterior and interior design scheme.
With the C2 Kappa, Citroën is pursuing its strategy of personalising the C2, which races in the Chinese Rally Championship, and also testing the reaction of the market to new product proposals.

C-Cactus: a new take on the essential, ecological car

The C-Cactus concept car is an ingenious take on vehicle design, centred on essential values. The Marque's ambitious aim is to market an ecological hatchback with cheerful, attractive styling, equipped with a hybrid HDi drivetrain and sold at the same price as an entry-level C4.
To square this complex equation, Citroën explored new forms of design. It decided to abandon features that are not essential to comfort and to focus instead on technology, styling and equipment that are positive, ecological and valued by users.
C-Cactus is an ecological car. It includes a significant proportion of recycled or recyclable materials and, like the plant it is named after, it is low on consumption. Weighing just 1,180 kg and featuring a hybrid HDi drivetrain, C-Cactus consumes 2.9 l/100 km for CO2 emissions of 78 g/km.
Its low production cost can be attributed to the use of new materials and to a rational design process using a smaller number of parts. The cabin is made up of just over 200 parts, i.e. almost half the number used by a conventional hatchback of identical size.
