Citroën
plans on producing 150 000 cars a year in its two Chinese plants and
anticipates achieving at least 10% market share through a network of
550 sales outlets. 49 131 Fukangs were sold in 1998. The
Chinese car market is estimated to be 550 000 in 1999. In
addition to the Fukang, both the XM and Xantia (Fengshen-Xietuolong) are built
locally in China.
